Jonathan Slifka is a role model for positive attitude and compassion. Born with spina bifida, Jon has always navigated through life in a wheelchair. Living with a disability does not define Jon, and he works hard to make the world a better place for others. In this episode Jon shares the challenges and triumphs of his early years in school. In spite of the challenges he faced, Jon focuses on the positives and does his best to make life better for everyone around him. He reflects on the people who made a difference in his life, and shares how he has taken on the role of advocacy for all people with disabilities.
*Jon has served in many vital roles in his career. In 2013 he was appointed as the Governor's Liaison to the Disability Community in Connecticut, and is now working with the Department of Aging and Disability Services. He has been appointed to several tasks forces including a Transportation Task Force raising issues on behalf of the aging and disability communities.
